Thanks to a very generous $4,250 award from the Community Foundation of North Central Washington, Leavenworth Winter Sports Club recently upgraded their website and obtained electronic devices for off-site events. The Community Foundation of North Central Washington is a charitable community trust organized as a nonprofit 501(c)(3) in 1986 using $2.1 million from the sale of the nonprofit Chelan County Medial Service Corporation (a Blue Shield plan). The Foundation acts as a vehicle for linking community resources with community needs by building a pool of funds, investing them, and distributing income from the funds to nonprofit organizations serving NCW communities.
LWSC Receives Community Foundation of NCW Award
LWSC will use the newly improved website to convey information about operating schedules, events, junior programs, lessons, activities and news. The website becomes the hub of information for 60,000 skiers annually. With the advances in social media, e-commerce and online applications, the old site was in desperate need of upgrades. The large project was graciously accepted by Fallon Technology, a long-time supporter of LWSC. The new electronic devices will aid special events such as Junior Olympic qualifying races, fundraisers and other community events.
